Robbie Soto Robbie Soto started his acting career in 2005 with the role of 'Stewpot' in North Hagerstown High School's production of 'South Pacific'. He continued acting, branching off to the Washington County Playhouse where he made his debut in 'Its A Wonderful Life'. Since then Soto has taken part in 31 shows including Pippin, Grease, Lil' Abner, Oklahoma, West Soto has reviced voice lessons from Alderson Broaddus College from Lillian Long and at Hagerstown Community College with Korby Moss-Sanders. Not only has he directed all the shows the group has performed he has also been in all of them. Soto's time with the group has been "the best of his life, being apart of community theaters around the area and having to take a back seat to the same people over and over again can really mess with a young performers self esteem. So my partner, Dustin and I, decided to do our own thing that gives young performers of all ages a chance to shine." He says meeting new people every year is what makes the Performers of H.O.P.E so much different from a lot of places. It's never the same people. "We always add more" says Soto. "The best thing about our group is the performers are their for the right reason. Not the spotlight not to be on T.V. They want to help a family." His favorite memory of the group is seeing the look on the families face when they come out and have a good time, despite their situation. "Its really awesome when they come out and enjoy the show. Several of the families that we help have recived help from others, but we give them something else besides a monitary donation, we let them have fun and put a smile on their face and sometimes, thats the best thing you can do for someone. Robbie wants to continue with the Performers of H.O.P.E through college. After college he wants to become a music teacher and continue to give back to the community and teach young people about the world of music and Performing Arts. | Dustin Perrott Perrott Started to perform in the 8th grade with the choir. he continued to sing through high school and performed in all the groups their. Dustin has been apart of everything with the Performers of H.O.P.E since it was just an idea in high school. Now it's something bigger. "It gives young people the chance to get to know some of the local talent that they aren't familiar with. It also gives them real show expierenc as well as a setting of young people are coming up with all the ideas and doing nearly all the work. Its nice for young people to see that they can be a part of something bigger then themselves and truly make a difference in a person's life, all through the art of performance." Perrott's favorite memory from the group are from the times we get to hang out and go places with each other, away from the stress of doing a show. "Being in the group, you get to know a lot of local performers who end up becoming some of your best friends. It's an awesome expierence and i would encourage any young performer to be a part of it." His future goal consist of being an aspiring singer/songwirter, be it as a solo act or with his band. He intend on going to school at The Sheffield Institute For The Recording Arts in order to recive certification as an audio engineer. Then, if his dreams of being a musician aren't attainable, he can continue in another area of music that really facinates him, Studio Recording. |
